FERNANDO SÁNCHEZ CASTILLO

Graduate in Fine Art at the Complutense University, Madrid.
Master’s degree from the Institute of Contemporary Aesthetics, Universidad Autónoma, Madrid.
A member of the research group, ENSBA in Paris and Artist in Residence at the Rijksakademie of Amsterdam.
Currently forming part of / participating in the United Nations of Geneva Research Team, PIMPA (Memory Politics and Art Practices) and has lead courses, workshops and talks at Princeton University, Complutense University, Madrid and The International University Menendez Pelayo among others.
The work of Sánchez Castillo is rooted in the awareness of the practice of contemporary art as cultural critique. His pieces have links with historiography, journalism and the ambiguous relationship between power and it’s propaganda.

Since 2003 Sánchez Castillo has worked with the Juana de Aizpuru gallery in Madrid and since 2013 with Tegenboschvanvreden Gallery in Amsterdam.
