Concebida por primera vez para el pabell\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ol de la 44\u00ba Bienal de Venecia en 1990, esta obra pertenece al proyecto Honey Moon Project<\/b>del artista catal\u00e1n, proyecto de enlace simb\u00f3lico entre la estatua de Col\u00f3n de Barcelona y la estatua de la Libertad de Nueva York.<\/p>\n

El \u201czapato\u201d de la novia, pertenece al attrezzo de la propia estatua de la libertad y de su uni\u00f3n con Col\u00f3n como s\u00edmbolo de v\u00ednculo entre continentes, de lo festivo como manifestaci\u00f3n colectiva, tem\u00e1ticas muy presentes en la obra de Miralda. Como parte del ajuar, el zapato, se convierte en un s\u00edmbolo de una actividad universal para llevar a cabo una deconstrucci\u00f3n de prejuicios en un mundo ya global.<\/p>\n

Obra perteneciente a la colecci\u00f3n de la Fundaci\u00f3n Museo Reina Sofia<\/b>, Zapato G\u00f3ndola<\/i>, tras navegar por los canales de Venecia, llega por primera vez a Espa\u00f1a a la ciudad de Valencia, donde ha sido expuesto en el Centro Cultural Bombas Gens entre abril y noviembre de 2023, ahora continua su viaje a tierras gaditanas como s\u00edmbolo de encuentro con la tierra desde donde Col\u00f3n parti\u00f3 a las Am\u00e9ricas. El paisaje del bosque de la Fundaci\u00f3n Montenmedio Contempor\u00e1neo<\/b>, el encuentro entre el mar Mediterr\u00e1neo y el oc\u00e9ano Atl\u00e1ntico, testigos en su d\u00eda de las haza\u00f1as del gran navegante, se reinventan con la ofrenda\u00a0 de Zapato G\u00f3ndola. <\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Como pr\u00e9stamo de la Fundaci\u00f3n Museo Reina Sof\u00eda, Zapato G\u00f3ndola<\/i><\/b>, permanecer\u00e1 en la Fundaci\u00f3n Montenmedio Contempor\u00e1nea un a\u00f1o acompa\u00f1ando el resto de la colecci\u00f3n site specific<\/i>de artistas internacionales de la Dehesa Gaditana, invitando a los espectadores a reconsiderar su relaci\u00f3n con el arte y las experiencias cotidianas que los rodean tal como lo desea el artista.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Conceived for the first time for the Spanish Pavilion at the 44th Venice Biennale in 1990, this work belongs to the ‘Honey Moon Project’<\/em>by the Catalan artist\u2014a symbolic connection between the statue of Columbus in Barcelona and the Statue of Liberty in New York.<\/p>\n

The ‘bride’s shoe,’ part of the attrezzo of the Statue of Liberty itself and its union with Columbus, symbolizes the link between continents and the festive spirit as a collective manifestation\u2014themes prominently present in Miralda’s body of work. As part of the trousseau, the shoe becomes a symbol of a universal activity, contributing to the deconstruction of prejudices in an already globalized world.<\/p>\n

A part of the collection of the Reina Sofia Museum Foundation, ‘Gondola Shoe’ sailed through the canals of Venice and now arrives in Spain for the first time in the city of Valencia. It was exhibited at the Bombas Gens Cultural Center from April to November 2023. Now, it continues its journey to the land of Cadiz as a symbol of connection with the land from where Columbus set sail to the Americas. The landscape of the Montenmedio Contemporary Foundation, the meeting point between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean\u2014once witnesses to the feats of the great navigator\u2014are reinvented with the offering of the ‘Gondola Shoe.’<\/p>\n

On loan from the Reina Sofia Museum Foundation, the ‘Gondola Shoe’ will remain at the Montenmedio Contemporary Foundation for a year, accompanying the rest of the site-specific collection of international artists in the Dehesa Gaditana. It invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with art and the everyday experiences that surround them, as desired by the artist.<\/p>\n<\/div>
