JACOBO CASTELLANO<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ja\u00e9n 1976. He lives and works in Madrid.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Graduate in Fine Art at<\/span><\/b>University of Granada (Spain).<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/b>In spite of his youth, Jacobo Castellano has a long career as an artist and is regarded as one of the most prominent young Spanish artist on the contemporary scene.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/b>The work of Jacobo Castellano is based on his childhood family memories and the stories behind the objects he searches and rescues with amazing intuition, which he then redesigns providing them with new meanings. With his work (sculptures, installations, photos and paintings) and always using wood as a common basis, the artist seeks to reconnect with \u201cthe brevity of the memory\u201d.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Jacobo Castellano has presented solo exhibitions in, Madrid,<\/b>Oporto (2008, 2014)<\/span><\/b>, Sevilla (2016); Granada (2017). <\/b>Recently, he has had a solo exhibition, called riflepistolaca\u00f1\u00f3n, in the Contemporary Andalusian Art Center in Seville (2018) and in ARTIUM, the Basque Center of Contemporary Art (2019).<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

His work can also be found in the following collections: ARTIUM; CAAC Sevilla; Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo de la Comunidad de Madrid;\u00a0 Centro Gallego de Arte Contempor\u00e1neo; Fundaci\u00f3<\/span><\/b>n Provincial de Artes Pla<\/span><\/b>\u0301<\/span><\/b>sticas Rafael Bot<\/span><\/b>\u00ed and, in 2017, he was awarded with the prize Cervezas Alhambra for young artists.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>
